EHS Dance Company Dazzles at the Great Big Dance Off
28 March 2025
The EHS Dance Company brought their A-game to the Great Big Dance Off Competition, impressing judges and audience alike with their talent, dedication and teamwork. From their early morning rehearsal to the final bow, it was clear they were ready for the challenge. Dressed in their company jackets, t-shirts, and sporting slicked-back hair, the dancers were focused and excited.
Once the preparation was complete, it was time to head to the Alexandra Theatre. The atmosphere was electric as the girls arrived, surrounded by eager smiles from students of all schools waiting for their on-stage run-throughs. When it was time for their rehearsal on stage, they nailed their performance, gaining the confidence they needed for the upcoming competition.
Backstage, final preparations were in full swing. Costumes and headpieces adjusted, red lipstick applied, and, of course, the annual competition cupcakes enjoyed. The camaraderie in the dressing room was heartwarming as they helped each other with hair and makeup.
When their big moment arrived, the EHS Dance Company took the stage and showcased their skills with impressive professionalism. The competition’s host described their performance as "spellbinding," adding, "There was something about it; I just couldn’t take my eyes off it." As the girls took their final bow, they left the stage beaming with pride, knowing they had given it their all.
Despite competing in the challenging KS4/5 category with six members still in KS3, the EHS Dance Company earned 16 more points than last year and received a perfect 10/10 from one judge for strength and fluidity. Their growth and improvement were clear to see, and their performance continues to leave a lasting impression.
As always, the EHS Dance Company has done us proud! Well done, girls!
