EHS Dance Company Shines at Charity Event

Senior School

18 October 2024

Last Saturday, the EHS Dance Company had the privilege of performing at the Let’s Dance charity event, held in the Octagon at Edgbaston High School. The event, organised by 4 Trauma 4 Patients, brought together a vibrant mix of dance styles and live performances to raise funds in support of severely injured patients at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham.

The evening featured dance styles from Arabic dance forms to tap, along with live music and singing acts creating a vibrant, buzzing atmosphere. Despite a few last-minute changes and re-blocking of dance pieces, EHS dancers delivered three stunning performances.

The first performance, Belly of the Beast, which was originally premiered at the Great Big Dance Off competition, drew praise from audience members who noticed how much the dancers had improved in a short space of time. Their hard work and dedication really shone through!

Next came Under the Spotlight, a high energy, sassy jazz piece, where the girls gave it their all on stage with high kicks and turns.

The final performance was a delightful tap duet titled Dance with Me, performed by company dancers Isadora F. and Sophie B. Their intricate footwork and upbeat energy had the crowd clapping along, leaving smiles all around.

The Let’s Dance charity event provided a wonderful opportunity for our dancers to showcase their talents while contributing to an amazing cause. A big thank you to the organisers for inviting us and congratulations to all the other performers.
