Kindergarten Explore Sea Life
07 June 2024
The highlight of the week for Kindergarten children was their visit to the Sea Life Centre!
The excitement started as they sat together to enjoy an early picnic lunch at school. It was lovely to hear the chatter of what they were looking forward to seeing. The girls sensibly walked over to Senior School where they hopped onto the EHS mini buses. All strapped in and ready to go they then enjoyed a few rounds of singing 'The Wheels on the Bus'. This included the actual windscreen wipers working at the right time!
Once at the Sea Life Centre, the first stop was to see the penguins. The girls loved watching them walking around and swimming in the water. They were very friendly and kept coming over to the windows to say hello to the girls!
The children were also pleased to be invited to explore shells in open tanks and had the opportunity to touch some star fish! Otters were the next stop and proved exciting to watch as they showed off when swimming past the children!
The girls were interested to see a large octopus, seahorses, jelly fish and so many other different types of small and large fish. The turtles were fascinating to watch too, and the girls asked many questions to further their understanding!
A long time was spent in the underwater tunnel where they saw a really large turtle called Mo who was 48 years old! They were also able to see stingray and sharks up close too. A favourite was definitely Geoffray the stingray!
The Kindergarten girls benefited a great deal from a day of exploring life under water!
