Kindergarten's Special Reply from Sir David Attenborough!
08 November 2024
A few weeks ago, Kindergarten’s letter sound of the week was “P”— perfect for a week all about penguins! The children had been learning about these amazing birds and were full of questions. To bring their curiosity to life, we decided to write to none other than Sir David Attenborough, who we knew would have answers.
The class crafted thoughtful questions like, “What is your favourite penguin?” and “Do penguins swim fast?” using their best drawing and writing skills. To make the week even more exciting, we took the girls on the school minibus for a special trip to the local post office in Harborne to post the letter and questions.
To everyone’s excitement, Sir David responded with answers to each question! He shared that his favourite penguin is the King Penguin, that penguins eat lots of fish, and confirmed that some penguins are indeed fast swimmers. He also added that penguins are mostly black and white.
Both pupils and teachers were delighted to receive such a kind and informative reply, making this learning experience unforgettable. Thank you, Sir David, for inspiring our
young learners and making our “P” week so memorable!
