School Survives the Sixth Form Sleepover
21 October 2016
On Thursday 13 October, the School braced itself for the annual Sixth Form sleepover. The event, which is now in its eighth year, forms an integral part of the School calendar to help bring together Years 12 and 13 outside the classroom setting and is organised by the Head Girls with input from both years.
After setting up their various sleeping arrangements to the back drop of a funky playlist, the Sixth Form sat down to eat dinner - pizza and many boxes of it! Being suitably full, the girls sat down for the general knowledge quiz which included a special and enlightening teacher round. Competition throughout was fierce between the teams made up of girls from both years, but eventually team "Gabylious" was victorious and awarded their prize of chocolate.
Next, the girls played ‘hide and seek’ and ‘sardines’ around the school building accompanied by lots of screaming and running, which was great fun. The rest of the night included dancing, glow sticks and a dance -off which I think we can all agree Year 13 definitely won.
The evening ended with a film, Endless Love which although voted for by the girls, received mixed reviews, lulling some off to sleep. Waking on the Friday morning, it is safe to say everyone felt happy but very tired to say the least!
Thanks must go to the Head Girls but also the teachers who agreed to supervise (and in doing so got as little sleep as the girls!).
