News From the Head of Prep

Preparatory

10 January 2025

It has been wonderful to welcome the girls back to school this week, rested and ready to embrace the term ahead. In my assembly on Tuesday, I talked to the girls about the importance of choices and the way in which good choices can have such a hugely positive impact on those around them. At EHS, we prepare our girls for future success and to be able to share the story of the choices the Nobel Prize Winner and former EHS pupil, Malala Yousafzai, made, was inspirational. We discussed the choice Malala made in pursuing her education and the incredibly positive impact she has had across the world, as a result of this choice. We prepare our girls for future success by placing the EHS values at the heart of everything we do. The world is changing at a rapid pace and the future we are preparing our girls for is yet unwritten. However, I am confident that by continuing to embed our EHS values we can ensure we are giving our girls the courage, creativity, aspiration, perseverance, responsibility, excellence and inclusivity to thrive in our ever-changing world.

Next week, we have our much-anticipated STEAM week where we will immerse the girls in every aspect of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts and Mathematics). STEAM runs through the veins of everything we do at EHS, but it is a chance for us to imbue the girls with a variety of different aspects of these subjects. I have no doubt our girls will make the most of every opportunity.

Have a wonderful weekend.
