Pedal Power!
26 April 2024
Kindergarten young cyclists have continued to enjoy their balanceability lessons and are going from strength to strength. They have conquered their initial wobbles and are now cycling with great confidence and independence, and all without the use of stabilisers.
The importance of physical development in young learners is key and by mastering the art of cycling, these pupils have demonstrated progress in gross motor skills, balance and coordination, all essential components of the EYFS framework.
All girls are making good progress with manoeuvring round slalom courses and cones and a number are now cycling confidently using the pedal bikes.
We are grateful to the Parents’ Association for their invaluable support in providing both balance and pedal bikes for our kindergarten girls, enabling them to embark on this
exhilarating journey as part of their development. The inclusion of the balanceability lessons in the weekly physical development curriculum and the enthusiasm of their
coaches is certainly paying dividends.
Congratulations to our fearless riders! We look forward to further reporting on their progress soon.
