Twin sisters Josephine and Erin made an impressive start to the summer athletics season at the Commonwealth Games stadium in Birmingham last weekend.

The Year 7 pupils did a sterling job representing the Birmingham Running, Athletics, and Triathlon Club. Erin took home first place in the 70m hurdles, while Josephine finished in second. After an even start, the sisters surged ahead, leaving the competition behind. Josephine also secured second place in the high jump, narrowly missing a 1.35m clearance after a couple of very close attempts.

Both girls are now gearing up for the county championships in a few weeks where they'll be competing across multiple events, including sprints, hurdles, 800m, shot put, and high jump.
