Prep Musician of the Year 2025

The much-anticipated Prep Musician of the Year competition took place on Wednesday, 26 February, bringing together the incredible musical talents of our Year 3-6 pupils. Girls across EHS Prep School first auditioned for their houses, earning valuable house points for their performances. The finest musicians from each year group then progressed to the grand final, held in the Octagon, where they performed in front of their peers, teachers and parents.
This year's competition was adjudicated by the esteemed Mr. Andrew Biggs, whose expert ear and insightful comments made for an enriching experience for all involved. It was a joy to listen to the finalists, each of whom demonstrated outstanding skill, confidence and musicality in their performances.
The standard was exceptionally high, making the task of selecting winners a challenging one. Congratulations to our year group winners:
Year 3 Winner: Samah H – Piano
Year 4 Winner: Amelia W – Guzheng
Year 5 Winner: Shelby W – Piano
Year 6 Winner: Eliza S – Guitar
A special commendation goes to our Overall Musician of the Year, Eliza M, who delivered a breathtaking performance of Fantasie Valse on the Flute, captivating the audience and judges alike.
Well done to everyone who took part and contributed to such a wonderful celebration of music. We look forward to hearing even more fantastic performances in next year’s
competition!
