Top Prize at Imperial Physics Summer School
13 September 2024
We are thrilled to share some exciting news from the summer holidays! A group of our Year 12 students, now Year 13, represented EHS at the Imperial Physics Summer School – and they didn’t just participate, they won! Competing against other schools, our talented students took home the top prize in the ‘Overall Project’ competition.
Students Maia and Valentina took the time to message Mrs Macro to share the fantastic news, who was quick to offer her congratulations, commending the girls for their hard work and dedication. It’s no small feat to win a competition like this, especially in such a challenging subject.
At EHS, physics has always been a subject that sparks curiosity and creativity. Whether it’s through exciting experiments involving exploding gas canisters or the classic ‘levitating lemon’ demonstration, our students find the fun in science while pushing the boundaries of their knowledge. This recent achievement at the summer school is a testament to the enthusiasm and passion our students bring to the subject.
We are eagerly awaiting the arrival of the plaque that Maia, Valentina, and the rest of the team have won, which will soon take pride of place in the science department.
It will serve as a reminder of the amazing talent we have at EHS and of the brilliant future ahead for our young scientists.
