Pupils Shine at Next Generation Awards

Senior School

21 June 2024

This term Year 8 pupils have been working hard on presentations for the Next Generation Awards. NGA is a project scheme run within Birmingham Schools for pupils aged 11-14-year-olds. The scheme aims to promote inclusivity, diversity as well as develop pupils in team work, ICT, presentation skills, creative writing, problem solving and creative thinking.

Participants were required to brainstorm an initiative to improve the city and the local community in some way and our girls rose to the challenge. They refined their ideas, worked out their costings and practised presentations during their PSHEE lessons. The best projects from each form presented to a panel of external judges last Wednesday and the judges were impressed with all seven presentations.

From making Birmingham chewing gum free to supporting new mothers, our girls came up with a variety of ways to improve our city.

We patiently wait to see if we have been selected to participate in the external semi-finals on Monday 8 July. Good luck to the teams!
