EHS Prep’s talented young singer Ava, Year 6, has captured the attention of the BBC in the lead-up to her exciting performance on the Snowman Tour. Ava, selected as one of the young soloists, will perform the iconic "Walking in the Air" song alongside a professional orchestra during the screening of The Snowman at Birmingham Town Hall on Sunday, 15 December.
Last week, BBC Midlands visited the school to film Ava and discuss her remarkable musical journey. During the visit, Ava showcased her talent by rehearsing the timeless piece on camera, a moment that beautifully highlighted her love of singing. She also participated in an interview where she shared insights into her passion for music, her preparation for the performance, and the vital role Edgbaston High School has played in nurturing her talent.
Ava’s story has been featured widely by the BBC, with an online article published on the BBC WM website. Her interview has been broadcasted on BBC Radio West Midlands throughout the morning and also aired during the region’s TV bulletins earlier this week.

Performing at Birmingham Town Hall in front of hundreds of people is a significant milestone in Ava’s musical journey, and our school community is proud of her achievement.
