Academic Lecture: Political ideologies of Ancient Rome
18 January 2019
Edgbaston High School is delighted to announce that we shall be joined by Dr Andrew Sillett for the next instalment of our Academic Lecture programme.
Dr Andrew Sillett is a lecturer in Latin Literature and Roman History at St Hilda’s College, University of Oxford. His specialist area of teaching is the literature and history of the late Roman Republic and early Empire.
Held after school on Thursday 24 January, this lecture will be particularly relevant to those pupils who are considering the study of Classics, Law, History, Sociology or Politics at A Level and beyond. However, it will also be of interest to any pupils who would like to learn more about the ancient world and how it continues to resonate with the world around us.
The talk will be followed by a ‘Preparation for Oxbridge’ Q and A session from 3.35 - 4pm.
Parents are very welcome to attend the lecture, the Q & A session or both and there is still time to confirm your attendance - please contact Mr Smith via email smithp@edgbastonhigh.co.uk
