Tropical ecosystem brought to life
12 October 2018
On Wednesday 3 October, the Animal Man visited school, bringing with him an array of exotic animals. Girls in Year 8, who are currently studying the Tropical Rainforest ecosystem, had the opportunity to meet the animals and find out about how they are adapted to the environments in which they live.
The girls were able to hold the animals including Cresty the crested gecko, George the bearded dragon, Sam the corn snake and Itsy Bitsy the Chilean Rose tarantula! The Animal Man also brought along with him Alan the Scops Owl and Alfredo, a giant frog.
Many girls faced their fears and all thoroughly enjoyed the visit; parents can expect to see requests for exotic pets on Christmas lists this year!
