Announcing the Sports Personality of the Year

Senior School | Sixth Form

12 May 2023

It was glitz and glamour last Thursday when the Octagon was transformed ready for our annual EHS Sports Personality of the Year Awards event.

Pupils and parents across Senior School were invited to celebrate the past year of sporting achievements. Throughout the night various awards were presented, from individual sports awards for each key stage including: netball, hockey, swimming, gymnastics, tennis, dance and cricket through to more niche awards including Team of the Year, Lifetime Achievement, Contributions to School PE, Leadership and our very own Unsung Hero award.

We also presented the EHS Young Sportsperson of the Year which is awarded to one pupil chosen from Key Stage 3. This year that pupil was Abigail Hedges, who holds a huge list of accolades and achievements in her sport, archery. Then at the end of the evening, after watching the inspiring nominee videos throughout the presentation, our EHS Sports Person of the Year was awarded.

Huge congratulations go to our runners up Lexi and Maia who made the decision extremely difficult for our panel. But ultimately there could only be one winner! Well done to Isabel Curry for all her achievements in cricket.

The PE department thoroughly enjoyed hosting this event and can't wait to continue to watch EHS sports teams and competitors flourish over the forthcoming year in time for the next event!
