Beyond the curriculum in Reception

Last Friday, Reception enjoyed taking part in their Beyond the Curriculum activities. The sun shone for a lovely visit to the Botanical Gardens allowing the girls the chance to complete their hunt. They had many items to find and locate around the gardens from photographs of flowers to something green or spikey!

This week they have been trying out their carpentry skills with the class took kit and workbench.  They learnt how to use screwdrivers, nuts and bolts, hammers, pincers, pliers and even a clamp!  

They are also looking forward to reading the new books which have arrived in the library received from the Collins Big Cat School Reading Programme.  We are sure these will continue to help develop key reading skills as well as a love of fiction and non-fiction books.
