Camp 7: One Big Adventure
23 September 2022
With the first few days of the new academic year under their belts, Year 7 packed their bags, destination: Camp 7! Blessed with sunny September weather, girls were welcomed into the bell tent village of Camp 7 with a personalised sweatshirt, goody bag, festival lanyard and wrist band adorned with a flower garland.
First up - they completed their very first tent challenge to the sound of festival party tracks. Next, the girls took part in an array of activities such as assault courses, archery, laser tag and crazy golf.
We all excitedly looked forward to further tent challenges including a Dance Challenge and a mammoth raffle ticket egg hunt. A delicious pizza party and cosy camp fire preceded settling down into the fairy-lit bell tents, a chance to get to know newly-made ‘tent mates’ and share their tuck shop treats.
Thursday morning began with generous portions of pain au chocolat before another day of full activities including a climbing wall, archery and Team Challenges. A range of delicious food options such as waffles and jacket potatoes kept energy levels high enough to take on all the fun activities and new challenges.
The last night did indeed bring about more adventure than we had planned when a blocked drainpipe precipitated a change of plan. In true EHS style we embraced this adversity and set out on our final adventure of Camp 7 as we embarked on a torch lit adventure from the playing fields back up to the Octagon. Here, each girl snuggled down for one big sleepover surrounded by eighty-one new friends.
