County Cricket Finals: EHS Teams Make Their Mark

Senior School

04 April 2025

This week, our U13 and U15 cricket teams participated in the County Cricket Finals at Action Indoor Sports. Both teams have dedicated time to countless before-school sessions with WMCC and Miss Lane, and the progress they have made has been impressive.

The group stages were fast-paced, requiring teams to demonstrate excellent decision-making under pressure. Both EHS teams adapted well to the pitch dimensions, executing impressive rebound catches off the net, and shared run-outs across the team.

The U15 match against KEHS was particularly thrilling. After a strong batting performance, KEHS needed 68 to win, but thanks to some well-timed wickets from Hafsah N, the match came down to the final over. EHS narrowly fell short by just 2 runs in a heart-breaking finish. A tough result, but what an outstanding first game and a brilliant showcase of the exceptional talent in Warwickshire.

Over in the U13s camp, things were no less intense. Our fielders gave their all—literally throwing their bodies on the line (or into the net!) to prevent runs. Cora B led the team for catches, while Annabel M stood out as the top wicket-taker.

Both teams qualified for the semi-finals—U13s against Princethorpe College and U15s against Solihull School. Once again, both matches came down to the final over, and EHS narrowly fell short at the very last hurdle; sport can be so unforgiving!

But while the results didn’t go our way, we are incredibly proud of the girls. Their progress has been outstanding, and the result could have gone either way. Both age groups finished in a commendable third place, and we’re excited to head into the outdoor season after Easter.

A huge congratulations to our teams:
U13- Annabel M, Cora B, Susie B, Amelia B, Grace D, Joanna M, Linda L and Zia H.
U15- Hafsah N, Sanskriti S, Milly C, Harleena G, Kiera N, Aliya S, Sophie R, Sriharshini G, Eva M and Isla B.
