Cricket Players Inspired by Day Out at Edgbaston

On Tuesday, the PE department took 45 Key Stage 3 cricket players to Edgbaston Cricket Ground to watch Central Sparks vs Northern Diamonds in the Charlotte Edwards Cup. The girls were excited to see England stars Issy Wong and Amy Jones, as well as some of the country's other top players.
The match was a close one, with Central Sparks eventually winning by three runs. After the match, the girls had the opportunity to meet the players, have some photographs taken, and get autographs.
The girls had a wonderful day out. They saw first hand what it takes to be a top-level cricketer, and they were motivated to work hard and achieve their own dreams.
We hope that this match has inspired some of our girls to be the next superstars of cricket!
