Cross country runners show determination

Preparatory

08 March 2019

On Saturday 2 March, two teams of girls from the Preparatory School took part in a Cross Country Competition at Hallfield School.

Our U9 Team from Years 3 and 4 included Eliza, Freya, Bess, Aurelia, Sophia and Keira and our U11 Team from Years 5 and 6 was made up of Charlotte, Millie, Phoebe, Caroline, Oko and Eleanor.

Once the girls were all gathered we registered and they walked the course which was 1,200 metres for the younger team and 2,000 metres for the older girls.
The first event was for the U9 girls who were excited to get started.  Aurelia was first off the line and she stayed at the front throughout the race, running with great confidence and finishing in a well-deserved first place overall.  The other girls all ran extremely well too, and the team finished in a very pleasing third place.

The U11 Team had a short wait whilst the boys ran but then it was their turn.  They also ran very well and their combined score also gained another very pleasing third place finish for the team.

Our congratulations to all of the girls and a thank you to parents who came to help and support.
