Edgbaston High School announces new Headmistress

Parents

08 March 2019

Following news of Dr Weeks’ decision to retire at the end of the academic year after 13 years of inspirational leadership of the School, the Governing Council was delighted to announce in February the appointment of Mrs Clare Macro to the position of Headmistress. This appointment came at the end of a long and exacting selection process that involved a number of excellent candidates.

With over eight years’ experience as Senior Deputy Head at Tudor Hall, an all-girls independent school near Banbury, Mrs Macro joins EHS with a wealth of relevant and impressive experience in an independent school setting. Her leadership skills and years of experience of inspiring pupils in a single sex environment will be invaluable as she takes up her position at EHS.

This is a very exciting appointment for Edgbaston High School. Mrs Macro will build upon the exceptional results Dr Weeks has achieved in meeting the school’s aim of providing a truly excellent, high quality, holistic education for all pupils. She brings with her a wealth of energy and enthusiasm, and her track record of success at Tudor Hall speaks for itself.  I look forward to joining you all in welcoming her to the School at the start of the next academic year in September.

I know Dr Weeks will be greatly missed from school and we are enormously grateful to her for her dedication and commitment to EHS over the years. Together with pupils, staff and governors I look forward to thanking Dr Weeks personally and celebrating her time in school with a programme of special events over the course of the coming months.

Jeremy Payne
Chair of Governors
