EHS Prep Swimmers Shine at ESSA Heats
21 March 2025
On Thursday 14 March, two EHS Prep swimming teams headed to Warwick to compete in the ESSA Heats, hoping to secure a spot at the National Finals in Sheffield this June. Excitement and nerves were high, especially for those swimming in the ESSA heats for the first time.
The girls were competing in both the Freestyle and Medley Relays, racing against the clock as all other heats across the West Midlands had already taken place the previous week. They swam amazingly well, each one delivering their fastest-ever performance. Their dives were spot on, their takeovers seamless, and their determination evident in every stroke.
The gala ended on a high with fun races, giving all the teams a chance to wind down after the adrenaline rush of the timed heats. Then came the nervous wait for the all-important email. On Friday morning, the news arrived—the A team had qualified in the top three in the West Midlands for both the freestyle and medley relays! An incredible achievement to qualify for one relay, let alone both. The girls were ecstatic and are now looking ahead to June with even more determination.
The B team also delivered an outstanding performance and will continue training alongside the A team as reserves. Each one of them swam fabulously well, well done, girls!
An incredible display of attitude, determination, and work ethic from each and every girl. We are so proud of you all, it really does takes the "EHS village" to reach this
level, and what a journey it has been so far!
