Jashvita in Year 1 loves dogs and has wanted to be a vet since she was three years old. Each year at Christmas she has donated shoeboxes and treats to Birmingham Dogs Home which rescues, reunites and rehomes stray and abandoned dogs. When she heard that they had launched their Healing Hearts Appeal to build a new veterinary clinic she wanted to help further.
With the help of her family and friends in various countries she raised £598 by singing her favourite song. Singing is one of Jashvita’s hobbies so she combined this skill with her love of dogs to help the clinic. Her family has supported Jashvita’s interests further by sponsoring some medical equipment at the clinic.
Following her fundraising efforts Jashvita was invited for a ‘behind the scenes’ tour of the new clinic ahead of its opening to see how the animals will be helped. This was an exciting opportunity and one which Jashvita clearly enjoyed.
The pictures, which have featured in the most recent publication of the Dogs Home magazine, Fetch, show the facilities at the clinic.
Well done Jashvita, we are proud of your efforts to help provide medical care for homeless dogs.
