Hard work continues to pay off for gymnasts
14 February 2020
At the weekend, 10 senior students travelled to Fenton Manor in Stoke to compete in the West Midlands Schools Floor and Vault Gymnastics Competition.
The U14 team was made up of Matilda, Rhea, Charlotte, Lucy, Maya and Mollie. The team has shown great commitment to training this term and it truly paid off when they produced some beautifully polished floor routines, performing with confidence and finesse. On the vault, they all demonstrated power as well as neatness. Overall, the team was placed second, narrowly missing out on a place in the national finals.
The older girls that represented the U19 team included Jenny, Nyah, Charlotte and Angel. Once again, the floor routines were performed to music on a 12m x 12m floor and were executed with confidence and artistry. Their vaults, in particular, were powerful and dynamic. The team also finished in second place.
Very well done to all the girls who took part; they are a credit to the gymnastics squad.
