Head's End of Term Message
Westbourne | Preparatory | Senior School | Sixth Form | Parents
15 December 2023
The second half of the Autumn Term has been another extravaganza of sport, creativity, singing, dancing, music, awards assemblies, and numerous opportunities to come together as a community to celebrate who we are and what we have achieved.
There have been so many highlights but once again watching the youngest in our school perform a Nativity with confidence, wonder and excitement, and the oldest in the school lead the Senior School in an outstanding Gala really highlights what the school does so well across the whole age range. The House Captains and Year 13 were tremendous in bringing their houses together, being inclusive and showing just why EHS is the place to be. Last year I shared the stage with three unicorns, and this year three Minions. The sense of fun the pupils have is infectious and the memories formed at all these events are priceless and stay with us forever.
I am immensely proud to be the Head of Edgbaston High School for Girls and proud of all the pupils and staff. Everyone works incredibly hard to create an environment where all
can grow and flourish. The pace of life at EHS is very quick and too often we can forget what we have done, the progress we have made and goals we have reached. So, at the end
of term it is important to thank the staff for all that they have done for the pupils and the children for their energy, enthusiasm and joy.
At the end of this term, we said farewell to two members of staff:
Mr Robson, Director of Music
Miss Leason, Teacher of Geography and Art
We thank them for their commitment to the pupils, wonderful teaching, and inspirational guidance. They will be missed a great deal, but we wish them all the best as they embark on new ventures.
I thank you all also for your support this term and for attending the many events on offer; it has been lovely to see so many of you in school. I hope that you all have a safe, peaceful, and restful holiday period, and I look forward to welcoming your daughters back to school in January.
