Friday Headlines
the weekly newsletter from EHS
Welcome Back Message from Mrs Macro

21 April 2023
Although our weekly Friday Headlines e-newsletter cannot capture everything that we do, the summary of our last week of the Spring Term conveyed just how incredibly busy and engaged all our students are. If you have not yet caught up on Friday Headlines from the 31st March, I urge you to take a look and celebrate all that your children do at school. I was not able to attend some of the events in the last few days of term in person, but it was wonderful to watch live both the culmination of our Celebration of Collective Cultures event and Final Assembly which was streamed by our very talented student tech team. The energy and enthusiasm could be felt 4,500 miles away in Canada by all of us on the school ski trip.
The start of the Summer Term picks up where we left off last term in terms of a busy schedule. We start with the eagerly anticipated Year 6 production. The girls have been rehearsing diligently and I am sure parents can probably recite as many lines of Peter Pan as they can! The cricket season starts next week for the senior girls, and we look forward to continued success in this sport. I could go on, but please do keep an eye on the calendar to see what is happening on a weekly and termly basis, and please encourage your daughters to maximise the opportunities that are on offer. The calendar can be found on our website and is regularly updated. As you visit the website you will also see that we have updated the design and content of this very important part of school life. We are very pleased with the results and look forward to it being a vehicle to convey to all the unique and wonderful character of our school.
We said goodbye to a few members of staff last term:
Mr Berman – Physics, and Octagon Technician
Miss Lawrence – PE and Dance
Mrs Shelton – History
They will be missed but we wish them all the best and thank them for all that they have done for the school in their time with us.
We extend a very warm welcome to new members of staff, who started with us this term:
Mr Chamberlain – IT
Mrs Luong – Dance
Mrs Stockdale – Learning Support
Mr Yeo – History
I look forward to a term filled with activity, excitement and hopefully a little bit of sunshine! We wish all of Year 11 and 13 the very best as they complete their final preparations ahead of their GCSEs and A levels and they can be sure that they have our full support as they progress through the term. I also hope very much to see you soon at one of the upcoming events in school.
