Legions of Year 3

There was great excitement in Year 3 this week as the girls went on the first Prep Trip since the start of Covid restrictions. Even the slightly colder day did not deter them from enjoying a day extending their historical knowledge.
As part of their on-going History topic on Early Invaders they visited the Lunt Roman Fort in Baginton, near Coventry. The Lunt is an early wooden Roman fort.
The girls were shown how the fort protected itself from the Celts and how the Roman soldiers dressed. The highlight of the day was learning to fight with Roman shields and
swords in the cavalry-training ring (gyrus).
The girls are really looking forward to other opportunities on offer in all year groups across the school and next week Year 2 will be transported back in time to the Great
Fire of London.
