Diving In With The Lifesavers
08 October 2021
Here are our Lifesaving girls after a brilliant session in the water! The girls performed lots of rope throws, perfected their deep water rescues and practised using the buoyancy aids - all exercises that would serve them well in a real-life emergency.
Lifesaving Club has been a long standing fixture on the cocurricular calendar for many years and the club continues to go from strength to strength with approximately 55 girls from Years 7-11 signed up.
Run by Lifesaving Instructor Mrs Hayward with assistance from five Sixth Form Assistant Lifesaving Instructors and Lifeguards, Lifesaving Club takes place on Mondays after school. Pupils start from Bronze Level at Stage 1 and work up towards the Gold award. They can progress onto the more in-depth Survive and Save course and then in Year 11 can do their NPLQ (Lifeguard Qualification) and their Assistant Lifesaving Instructor Qualification.
