Local History Comes Alive
31 March 2023
The Black Country Museum gave Year 5 a taste of the past last week as they followed the life of a Victorian child.
The girls decided that a job down the mines was definitely harder work than they would like. A visit to the shops provided a live lesson in History as they identified strange objects and Mr Griffiths in the school room had them all sitting up straight and reciting tables. Luckily, only Mrs Donelly received the cane, as she had spent her lesson money on sweets!
Playing with the street games provided great fun, although some were hard to master. Our girls did however demonstrate they have very impressive skipping skills. The day was fun, informative and really brought our studies alive.
Returning home tired, but thankful to be back in the classroom at EHS everyone had enjoyed a super day.
