Lessons in Structural Engineering for Mathematicians
02 July 2021
As part of their end of term Maths lesson this week, girls in Year 7 to 10 were challenged to create freestanding towers, constructed solely out of spaghetti and marshmallows. With limited resources, the girls had to employ logical thinking skills, teamwork and strategy to create the tallest structure, which also had to be able to hold its own weight - not an easy feat!
The girls demonstrated creativity and resilience and we saw a range of impressive structures created, with some almost a metre tall. We look forward to announcing the winners
in the final assembly next week!
