Successful season for EHS gymnasts

Preparatory | Senior School | Sixth Form

15 February 2019

It has been a busy and successful season for the EHS Gymnastics Team. On Friday 1 February, a record number of 27 gymnastics from across Years 4-13 entered the Birmingham School Gymnastics Competition. All girls worked incredibly hard to perfect their floor skills and perform challenging vaults and we are delighted to report that U12 teams placed 1st and 2nd and the U14 team placed 1st.

On Saturday 9 February, three teams competed at the West Midlands Schools Gymnastics Competition in Stoke. The U11 team consisted of Aurelia Ehiogu, Star Ehiogu, Oko Kapaso, Zaynab Chaudary-Haneed and Phoebe Cruise. It was their first time competing as a team at this level and the girls showed real determination. As a result, they placed second overall, a fantastic achievement. A special mention must go to Aurelia for coming first individually in her age group.

The U14 team Blue team consisted on Greta Curvick, Rhea Ghanesh, Lucille Sutton, Alma Damer, Maya Sharma and Zaihra Husan and the U14 Red team consisted of Charlotte Miller, Jenny Reidy, Nyah Khera, Issy Birch, Ruby Morris-Trigg and Mollie Hewison. All gymnasts showed some excelled skill and precision, with the U14 Red Team taking second place. Mollie also placed third individually for her age group.

Another successful season for the EHS Gym Squads! Well done to all!
