On The Run With Team EHS!
30 April 2021
EHS has been on the run all week, with a different year group running 5k each day to raise money for Cancer Research as part of our Race for Life week.
Our seasoned marathon runner, Mrs Hewison, has led the pack each day, completing the course six times and clocking up an inspiring 30k. And she was only pipped to the post once on Tuesday by Jemima in Year 10 who also set a course personal best of 22.19. Well done Jemima!
On Thursday it was Mrs Macro’s turn who, along with Year 8, donned her trainers and put in an impressive performance - although sadly it wasn’t enough to beat the indefatigable Mrs Hewison.
The 5k course was marked out by the brilliant EHS PE team who also created the eye-catching balloon arch you see in the pictures and initiated an aerobic warm up set to motivating music, to prepare the girls for their run.
So far, the school has raised a staggering £1600 – and there’s still over a week still to go for handing in sponsorship forms and money. Our aim is to raise as much money as we can so if you are able to help us with our fundraising efforts and support your daughters we would be extremely grateful. For ease, we’ve set up a dedicated sponsorship page https://fundraise.cancerresearchuk.org/page/ehs-race-for-life-2021
We’re so proud of the way that the girls have embraced the challenge and got behind such a brilliant cause.
