On your marks, get set... Bake!

Last Friday, girls in Year 7 took part in the Roman Bake Off 2018 hosted by the Classics and Food and Nutrition departments.
Two pairs of girls from each form were tasked with baking a cake with a Classical theme. From the colosseum to the school motto, the girls threw themselves into the challenge and produced some very impressive bakes.
The winners came from 7EC who baked a three-tiered colosseum cake with lemon, vanilla and ginger flavour sponges. The ginger sponge in particular was a real treat. It was a pleasure to see their research and planning come alive in a baked form! Many thanks to all the girls who participated, to SMT for judging and to the staff who supported the event.
We are looking forward to the Classical delights of next year already!
