Prep Carol Service with a Twist
15 December 2022
This year’s Prep School Carol Service was held in the Octagon as a change from tradition and we were delighted to be able to welcome parents to join us once again after several years break. The service was traditional however and included a very seasonal mix of items.
The service opened with ‘Carol of the Bells’ played by Prep Orchestra who then accompanied all of the communal carols throughout. In addition to inviting parents and guests to join in the singing there were several items from both our Junior and Senior Prep Choirs and from all girls in Years 1 – 6 including a French Carol, ‘Nous Vous Souhaitons un Joyeux Noel’.
The carols were interspersed with readings by Lucy and Anya, our Prep Head girls, Orla, Ellie and Nia telling the story of the Nativity. Year 6 girls also performed several traditional pieces of music on the hand bells, donated to school by the EHSPA.
The Reverend Chris Mitton gave the address which was very interactive and included the children. He also lead the prayers and blessing.
We all enjoyed the afternoon being gathered as a community of girls, staff and parents once again.
