Despite some events needing to be cancelled or postponed we have still had much to celebrate and for the girls to enjoy this week.
Last Friday, we supported Sports Relief which was a really good example of how our girls and school community work together to help others. The morning began with a drop-in fitness session for parents and their daughters, a healthy and fun way to begin the day. This was followed by assembly for Years 3 – 6 where we had the opportunity to see the huge number of sports our girls are involved with in some way as they had followed the Sports Relief theme and ‘Got Their Kit On.’ We really enjoyed the community activity of singing the song specially written for the occasion. We hope that our £250 raised will be able to help many people in this country and abroad.
A selected team of Prep swimmers carried on the sports theme on Friday as they travelled to Bromsgrove to take part in the English Schools Swimming Association heats. They swam really well and we are hoping to hear that they have qualified for the finals in June in Sheffield.
Monday began with good luck wishes to all girls taking LAMDA examinations due to last three days as so many of our girls enjoy the programme. It was followed by congratulations to our Key Stage 1 girls for their endeavours and to Keira, Harveen and Maggie for their Independent Learning projects. We were also pleased to recognise the help given by Zoe, in Year 6, to a younger pupil in Westbourne with developing her foreign language skills.
Reception girls also had opportunity to extend their learning with a trip to the Senior School Art Studio where they shared their still life pictures with Year 7 girls. Artists in the making!
As we face learning at distance we wish all families well at this challenging time and will do our best to ‘work together whilst apart.’
