After ending last week with our whole day of Sport including girls from Nursery to Year 6 we returned this week to more performances. We began with assemblies for the parents of girls in 3K and 3L. The girls had prepared their own assemblies with a review of their work and activities from their year including information and pictures. We were all surprised at the breadth of different achievements and activities.
We have also been able to showcase the developing swimming skills of girls in Years 4 and 5 as they competed for their Houses in the annual galas. The points for each age group will be totalled and the final result will be revealed in our final assembly, next week. Our congratulations to all girls who have taken part.
Thursday saw another annual favourite as the Year 2 girls entertained us with their Minibeasts Concert. There were very confident performances from all girls who recited and sang with great gusto and enjoyment. We enjoyed sharing their work across a number of curriculum areas.
In our Celebration Assembly this week we had much to congratulate everyone on which included a huge well done for the exemplary behaviour they have all demonstrated in the various workshops and trips that have taken place recently.
There were also congratulations to a number of girls for their achievements in Music examinations. These included awards for Initial violin and piano level through, Grade 1 Classical Guitar and Piano, Grade 2 Classical Guitar Grade 3 singing and Grade 5 Flute. Irha achieved her Bronze Foil award for fencing and a group of mathematicians from Year 4 were presented with their Bronze, Silver and Gold certificates. They had taken part in the First Mathematics Challenge and we are very proud of them all.
As we approach World Chocolate Day we presented the last few Independent Learning awards to Hannah, Sanaya, Isha, Innayah, Hitha and Anya. We have been delighted with the breadth of entries including cooking, posters, chocolate boxes to name a few.
Our next congratulations went to four girls in Year 2 who had braved the 3 Km Leicester WOLF Run with their parents. Running through Woods, Obstacles, Lakes and Forests was muddy, challenging and yet fun. Well done Inaya I, Mila O, Sanvi S, and Anya N on finishing and receiving medals.
We have ended this week with a visit from an author and a Shetland pony, and our annual Charity Fair with pupil input which we will report on next week.
We also look forward to next week, the last one of this academic year. We have Viking Day, our Prep Festival, Year 6 Leavers’ Celebration and Party and Changeover Day to look forward to and our new girls and parents coming to join us.
