Last week in Prep ended with a delicious ‘Chocolate Morning’ held in aid of Macmillan. We welcomed many parents who joined us for coffee and chocolate biscuits. The girls then enjoyed their chocolate treats at morning break. We were delighted to have raised the grand total of £525 to donate to this worthy charity. Our Charity Monitors, Ritu and Afia, with some friends were on-hand to help with the activities.

This week we celebrated European Languages Day in a special assembly. The girls have been busy learning some phrases in a different European language in each year group. They then all said good morning during the assembly. We were treated to Italian from Year 1, German from Year 2, Portuguese from Year 3, Russian from Year 4, Greek from Year 5 and rounded off with a cheery Bosnian greeting.

As other individual girls joined in with different languages which they speak at home, it was clear what a wonderful multi-cultural community EHS is.
We have also celebrated National Poetry Day with some performance poetry from Year 5.  Their poems were based on the robotic production lines they had seen whilst visiting Jaguar Land Rover factory, working together to weave sounds and movements into a rhythmic presentation.

In our Celebration Assembly this week we presented girls with a range of awards demonstrating a wealth of talent in Prep. Congratulations to Cora for a Diamond Blue Peter badge, a Mischief Makers certificate and medal for a summer of reading to Scarlett, Zoe for a Bronze Scrapbook Challenge award, Isabella for becoming a Sixer in Brownies and for winning a dance trophy, and Millie for sailing success.

Next week we are looking forward to our first Eco-Assembly of the year organised by our ‘Green’ class representatives.  There is also the Fire of London workshop and a visit from the French Theatre Company to round off the celebration of languages.
