Stephanie's poem selected for Lichfield Cathedral

At the end of last month, Year 9 pupil Stephanie travelled to Lichfield Cathedral to attend an award ceremony for their latest poetry competition ‘The Word’. Stephanie’s poem was one of twenty selected from more than 1,000 entries to be part of an exhibition inside the cathedral.
Poet and Head Judge Michael Symmons Roberts, winner of The Whitbread Prize for Poetry and The Costa Book Award, spoke to the finalists and the Dean of Lichfield presented prizes to the top three poems in each age category. Although she did not receive a prize on the evening, Stephanie should be proud that her work is now part of a wonderful display in this beautiful building.
