13 December 2024

The Senior Christmas Concert, held in the Octagon, was a heart-warming celebration of music and community. With senior staff, parents, and special guest Sir Dominic Cadbury in attendance, the evening showcased the incredible talents of students across the senior school, supported by the dedication of the Music Department and Visiting Music Teachers.

The programme featured a delightful variety of performances, reflecting the hard work and creativity of the school’s ensembles. The Chamber Choir opened the evening with a serene and uplifting start, followed by a nostalgic and festive performance from the Senior Choir that filled the Octagon with warmth.

The younger voices of the Year 7 Choir brought a lively energy, while the Senior String Ensemble charmed the audience with their polished and spirited performance. The Senior Flute Ensemble and the Piano Duet added unique musical textures, demonstrating the breadth of talent within the school.

A particularly memorable moment was the collaboration between Grace and Tig in the Chamber Ensemble, highlighting the camaraderie and creativity fostered within the school community. The Musical Theatre Ensemble added depth and emotion, before the A Level Ensemble topped the evening with a stunning display of technique, finesse and friendship.

A festive Christmas Sing-A-long brought performers and audience together in joyful celebration, embodying the spirit of the season and the strong sense of community at EHS.

Director of Music, Richard Skilbeck, would like to extend his heartfelt thanks to everyone involved; performers, staff, and supporters, for their efforts in creating a magical evening. The concert was a testament to the school’s commitment to nurturing talent and fostering a love for music, leaving all who attended with cherished memories to carry into the festive season.
