Sponsored Swimmers Smash Target
12 November 2021
Today marks the final day of the EHS sponsored swim. After surpassing the initial 61 mile target very early on, we have kept a careful eye on the number of miles swum and it has been creeping up steadily throughout the past fortnight.
We are delighted to announce that the swimmers have done tremendously well, surpassing even the second target of 100 miles to reach an amazing 204 miles! This is an incredible accomplishment and a fantastic example of what can be achieved when we come together.
We are grateful to all of our swimmers: the pupils and the teaching and non-teaching staff who joined in to play their part. Special thanks go to Mrs Hayward who has spearheaded the initiative.
EHS is proud to support the Poppy Appeal each year and through the swim we aim to raise money for both the Royal British Legion and the South Tyneside General Hospital which have supported veterans of the war, young and old, throughout the pandemic.
Anyone wishing to make a donation to the efforts in the final weekend of the swim can visit the Go Fund Me page here EHS Sponsored Swim Donations.
