Spring Term Excellence Book

Senior School | Sixth Form

22 March 2024

We are constantly amazed by the high quality of work produced by pupils of all ages here at EHS. In recognition of that talent and hard work, each term teachers are asked to nominate outstanding or excellent work to the Excellence Book. This term, we have once again seen work of an extraordinarily high calibre produced by girls in every year and across a range of subjects. Congratulations to the following students in the Senior School and Sixth Form for some exceptional work.

ART

Rebecca Chen (Y9)

For outstanding colour pencil drawings of fruit and vegetables. Rebecca’s sophisticated drawings demonstrate a highly developed ability to observe proportion, and capture the effects of light and shade on her subject.

Alifiyah Rashiq (Y7)

Excellent progress in Art.

D&T

Mabel Edmonds, Kavya Modhvadia, Maryam Merali (Y8)

For designing and creating exceptional bunting, working hard and with precision to achieve a very high standard. The bunting was on the theme of ‘it’s all about me’ and encompassed their interests, hobbies, favourite sports and background. Fabulous work.

Nethara Rajapakse (Y11)

Nethara has created an amazing collection of garment designs. This was completely of own accord using the skills she learnt in Year 10 – she shows a truly natural talent for design.

Humaira Mirza (Y7)

For a magnificent piece of homework/storyboard.

ENGLISH

Jamila Doggi (Y8)

For an outstanding piece of creative written work, inspired by Charles Dickens, about the difficulties and struggles of life in a workhouse. The piece was flawless, imaginative. Well crafted and showing the sophistication of GCSE standard work. Well done Jamila.

Cat Swanborough (Y8)

For a superb creative response to writing a review on Du Maurier’s ‘Rebecca’. Catrin produced an excellent murder mystery style noticeboard connecting the themes, characters and possible motives in a stunning visual display.

Kavya Modhvadia (Y8)

For an excellent creative response to writing a review on Du Maurier’s ‘Rebecca’. Kavya produced an excellent shoebox model that reflected a key point in the story. Kavya placed the characters to depict the scene and recreated the room based on her reading of the novel. Mrs Macro thought this was very ‘Cluedo’.

GEOGRAPHY

Nikita Dalvair (Y9) and Asmitha Rajaguru (Y9)

For achieving 3 merits for homework tasks across the tectonics topics. Fantastic work this term. Well done!

Marisa Tapeinopoulou (Y8)

For the excellent design of posters reminding everyone to turn off the lights.

Aleesa Tariq, Zoe Teradesai, Siana Zacheva (Y9)

For producing excellent work in the tectonic hazards topics. All three showed fantastic geographical knowledge, literary prowess and creativity.

Maya McCracken, Jemima Abraham, Mariam Ahmed, Eva Michael, Eva Kalley, Sienna Tiwana (Y9)

For their excellent Eco Tourism videos.
