The Stretch and Challenge noticeboard in Senior School has had a makeover this term, and we want to encourage as many girls as possible to engage with the opportunities offered to extend their thinking and enhance their knowledge. As well as the ‘Enrich, Extend, Enjoy’ booklet, we advertise competitions and events, ‘Future Learn’ courses (www.futurelearn.com) and details of other websites aimed at inspiring girls to look beyond their school subjects, and challenge themselves.

In addition, I will be running an invitational Thinking Skills club in Key Stage 3, and Mr Smith is running a Politics and Philosophy discussion club for Key Stage 4. I have also introduced a monthly ‘Big Question’ to stimulate discussion. For example, last month’s question was:
