Hazel Lam (Y9)

For a fabulous speech, written from Portia’s perspective, under the disguise of Balthasar in the courtroom in Act 4 of the Merchant of Venice. Hazel’s words were empowering, persuasive and poetic. She dramatically presented the high emotions in the court as Shylock sought out his bond. Exceptional writing!

They produced some excellent work and independently found their own, additional, non-fiction extracts that can be used by themselves and their peers for revision in Year 11.

For an excellent History news report on the Russian Revolution. The report was entertaining but also informative – a tricky combination to pull off. The editing of the video report was also seamless. Mrs Macro also particularly liked the hats.

For incredible research on the quadratic sequence with amazing detail, derivation of the method and a full example. Simran was also able to explain with clarity to the mathematically-challenged Mrs Macro.

For an outstanding piece of research work on the different regimes Spain has lived under. The Spanish was flawless and showed an excellent level of scholarliness. Sophia had also helped Mrs Macro by using illustrations.

For an excellent video of the life work of Ursula Franklin. A highly informative and creative piece, with genuine tears of laughter from the comedy included. Well done!

The group worked together to create an excellent Year 8 Quiz Booklet which was shared with the rest of the year group. The booklet contained questions relating to the school curriculum and fun activities that helped to develop and enhance everyone’s general knowledge.
