The girls in Westbourne, the Pre-Preparatory department of Edgbaston High School, really enjoy taking their learning out of doors whatever the weather. They have certainly enjoyed the autumn sunshine in the last couple of weeks although they have also talked about the colder mornings as they come in each day.
Kindergarten girls enjoy a session every week in our outdoor classroom. This last week they held their own version of ‘Master Chef’ as they combined and mixed ingredients in the mud kitchen. Some master bakers in the making perhaps!
Reception girls worked together in some team building exercises as they created their own dens using a variety of materials. They have also been investigating shapes both in the indoor classroom and outdoors using sticks.
The girls are discovering that they can learn in all sorts of different places and do not just have to be sitting at a desk.
