The Sound of Music

Senior School | Sixth Form

09 July 2021

The EHS playing fields were alive with the sound of music as, in a culmination of the year’s House activities, students were tasked with taking on the behemoths of the genre for our House Musical Competition. St. George tackled the iconic Mary Poppins, St. David were challenged to Disney’s Moana, St. Andrew had the Disney Classic Aladdin, St. Patrick were assigned magical Matilda and St. Francis undertook the much-loved Beauty and the Beast.

Employing their energy and enthusiasm to powerful effect, performers put their own very unique spin on the classics to produce exciting repertoires which combined music, drama, solo performances, excellent use of props and even cameo appearances from staff! Several of the staff judges made special mention of Juniper for her portrayal of the famous candlestick, Lumiere.

Congratulations go to St. Andrew who were declared the overall winners of the House Musical and to St. Francis, the runners up. Well done to all students for taking part!
