Year 4 had a great day for their trip to Selly Manor at the start of this week. They were keen to extend their learning and to find out more about life in Tudor times.
They arrived in glorious sunshine and started their experience by playing Tudor games in the well-kept gardens of the manor. Jacobs ladder, juggling and diablo were some the children’s games they could try with no electronic beeps to be heard.
The girls then learnt all about furniture, fires, food and fun that Tudor people had available to them. It was very interactive and pupils were able to try on Tudor ‘expensive clothes’, helmets and chain mail of the armies and then Tudor farm workers’ clothes.
The pupils were very engaged and asked very probing questions! The guides were amazed at the knowledge the girls already had.
We finished the day with the girls singing, very beautifully, some Tudor Christmas carols.
