Westbourne International Dance Day
21 October 2022
On Monday of this week girls in Westbourne enjoyed a day of International Dance as part of our work beyond the curriculum.
During the morning, girls experienced a range of dance styles as well as learning new dances from other countries. This included Spanish dancing as girls learnt some technical moves of Salsa. They joined in with dragon dancing using ribbons after watching how this is done in China. Girls also tried some free style disco dancing along with line dancing too!
At snack time the children were treated to a show where girls from Senior School came to dance for them! They were able to watch dancing of different styles including
ballroom, bhangra, contemporary and ballet. Some of the teachers even shared their dancing too!
The afternoon concluded with Nursery and Kindergarten taking part in ballet while Reception girls attempted the cancan dance from France! They also had a go at tap dancing. A
big thank you to all the teachers that helped make the day so successful.
