This week saw the introduction of the Discovery Den which all girls have enjoyed exploring.

In Nursery, the girls have taken part in activities based on the Little Miss Muffet nursery rhyme. These included role-playing as Miss Muffet and tasting the curds and whey they made from adding lemon juice to hot milk and whisking.  They made spiders from yoghurt pots and created webs by threading white wool onto black card.  They also did some emergent writing about the nursery rhyme character.

The curiosity cube provided opportunities to ask questions and find answers enabling the girls to further develop their communication and language skills. In Mathematics they focused on the number 1 whilst wearing the number 1 crowns.

Kindergarten girls have been busy sorting items into groups based on the materials they were made from and this week they have been learning about the letter d.  A main focus has been on the topic of dinosaurs. They have used green dinosaur scale playdough, had lots of small world play, sorted dinosaurs and practiced letter sound formation on a themed laminate.

Reception girls continue to be inquisitive to learn about gardens and growing.  They collected seeds and leaves from our outdoor classroom and patiently stuck them onto card to make a large flower collage.

In their Mathematics lessons they have also been learning about weighing and using the terms 'heavier' and 'lighter'.  They particularly liked finding objects around the classroom to weigh.  This has extended their mathematical vocabulary enormously as they were able to discuss, with each other, their ideas and predictions.

Rabeeyah very kindly gave her party bags to poorly boys/girls in the children's hospital.  The Birmingham Children’s Hospital gave her a flag for being so kind. We are very proud of Rabeeyah for this act of kindness.
