Poetry Trail for Year 7
15 October 2021
In celebration of National Poetry Day, which took place on Thursday 7 October, pupils in Year 7 were invited to take part in a special lunchtime Poetry Trail.
Staff had been warned to expect lots of excited Year 7s to be racing around the corridors on the hunt for poetry clues. As usual, Year 7 did not disappoint and went whizzing around (with gusto) in teams around the school. The trail took in much of the school, leading them right up to Mrs Macro’s office door and even up to the dizzy heights of Geography on the third floor.
Students found clues hidden in some of our most-loved poems such as Shakespeare’s ‘Sonnet 130’, Wordsworth’s ‘Daffodils’ and Lear’s ‘The Owl and the Pussycat’.
All participating students were awarded with a chocolate Freddo and prompted to have a large swig from their water bottle! Teams that completed the trail with the correct answers in the fastest time will be announced next week.
