Year 7 visit Cirencester's ancient Roman sites
08 June 2018
On Wednesday 23 May, Year 7 went on a Classics trip to Chedworth Roman villa and Corinium Museum in Cirencester.
The museum held lots of interesting and historical Roman artefacts and we were fascinated to see there were many decorative mosaics which depicted various myths. At Chedworth Roman villa we went on an educational tour around the remains of a Roman villa which was once as big as a mansion with over 50 rooms and two large courtyards. Next we had a living history session in which we made a medicine bag using a Roman recipe which included various ground herbs to cure stomach aches. All in all, everyone had a great day and enjoyed a picnic lunch in the sun!
